Does BAC Builders do storm restoration work?
Not the remediation itself. BAC Builders does not self-perform water extraction, mold remediation, or structural drying. What Brian does is represent the homeowner: recommending restoration contractors worth hiring, reviewing the scope and estimate before you sign, and holding the crew to it. He self-performs impact window and door installation, pool cage and screen repair, and the finish work after restoration is done.
Why hire an owner's representative after a storm?
After a major storm, homeowners get door-knocked by contractors from out of state, and the scope and price on those contracts are hard to judge under pressure. A licensed GC reading the document on your side of the table, with no stake in selling you the remediation, is the cheapest protection available.
Can you do impact window installation?
Yes. Impact-rated window and door installation is work Brian self-performs. In many Lee County flood zones, impact windows are required when replacing damaged openings, and all installations meet Florida Building Code product approval requirements.
Do storm repairs require permits?
Yes. Structural, electrical, and plumbing repairs always require permits in Florida. Unpermitted storm repairs are a serious liability: they can void your insurance, prevent future sales, and fail final inspection.
